Get out of your comfort zone

Take on extra assignments

You may feel like you are already doing enough, but taking on new tasks can help expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills. It can also help you develop a more positive work attitude, as you demonstrate to your employer that you are willing to go the extra mile to complete tasks.

When taking on additional assignments, it is important to be realistic. Make sure you have the time and energy to take on the tasks and that you understand what is expected of you. Speak with your supervisor or manager to make sure you have clear expectations and guidelines for the completion of the assignment.

When approaching extra assignments, focus on what you can do rather than what you cannot do. This will help you stay motivated and create a more positive work environment. Take risks and push yourself outside of your comfort zone – that’s how you learn new skills and grow professionally. 

Be sure to give yourself enough time to complete each task in a quality manner. Make sure to check in with your supervisor frequently for feedback and guidance on how to proceed. Asking questions is a good way to show initiative and demonstrates that you are invested in completing the task successfully.
